Thanks, I worked it out about a day ago, by chance.  To answer your question,
if you login as root, and edit the file called boot.config with vi, emacs,
etc.  (i think the file is on the root)  and type in what you would normally
type on the boot: prompt (for example mine contains the line 0:wd(1,a)kernel .
Save it, reboot and it should be ok.
