There are several options including a load balancing switch.  If you're
willing to go with a software solution you can look at PolyServe's High
Availability Clustering and Load Balancing Software
(http://daily.daemonnews.org/view_story.php3?story_id=902)

We're currently using an application called Resonate, unfortunately it
only runs on Solaris and Linux 2.2.
