I agree.  Unfortunately it's hard to know exactly what information to put
into it.  I believe you're refering to ppp, which isn't well documented in
itself.  You would be more intersted in a more full-featured comm program.
The best one I know if is Seyon, a ProComm-like program for X Windows.  It
has all the bells and whistles.

If you haven't found it already, check out the Handbook and the rest of
the documentation on http://www.freebsd.org/.  Or, you can find the
Handbook in /usr/share/doc/handbook on any installed system with the doc
distribution.
