No, it is one of the Romaji transliterations [may be the only one since it is a simple word, but there are multuple systems] for the japanese for turtle 亀 or かめ The roman alphabet is one of the accepted alphabets and is used in writing japanese, by japanese, with English out of the question, when they cannot write kanji/hiragana/katakana.
