I experience that very problem as of a week or so ago.

I can tell you that the problem does NOT occur on my system with

mtv-1.0.8.0a2, or the 1.0.7.x series.

It does occur with mtv-1.0.8.0a4 and 1.0.8.0 as released.

I generally run the threaded releases of the various versions.
