It might not just be an Athlon specific problem, or running out of RAM, cos I've got Intel a half a gig of RAM ... My SMP running {yesterday's (roughly, via ctm)} current, is also regularly panicing with a variety of different messages. Box ran just fine with 4.7-REL single CPU, & for short time with dual CPU, (but I didnt run that long with a dual config 4.7, cos I couldnt access my IDE bus in dual cpu mode on 4.7 (reported)). I checked the Asus ftp site, & unfortuantely I do have the newest BIOS, (so no easy hope of a solution there), so now I `just' have to: - learn about kernel hints file (I still include GENERIC's) - read my fresh downloaded Asus BIOS .pdf manual, & check settings, - read the FreeBSD handbook on trapping debug messages to a serial port, so I can easily trap edit & post them here, then I can give current@ meaningful debugs, meanwhile FWIW dmesg & config diff appended: ---------- Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
