It'll be the best $40 you ever spent ;-)

It needs to boot from a primary. In fact all it's native filesystems
(FFS) need to be primary although it can mount FAT (16 & 32) and NTFS
in extended.

That's based on the OS/2 boot mangler. I used to use that with
FreeBSD.

I believe it can be booted from LILO although I've never used it.

That's what I'm using at the moment, so yes.

Yes. It asks you if you want to install it when you install the OS.

For details about using FreeBSD with various boot manglers see
http://www.freebsd.org/FAQ/admin.html. A word of warning about the
section on using the NT loader though. *Don't* just copy boot0 as
described if you install FreeBSD on a different disk to NT; it'll
trash your partition table (as I found out to my cost this week). I
will be submitting a mod to that text shortly.

That's because this is an XFree86 issue/limitation, not a FreeBSD one. See
http://www.xfree.org

Several, including the latest version, 4

Just spend your $40 and get stuck in. You'll like it, and there's
plenty of help here.

Welcome to FreeBSD; Enjoy.
