The following reply was made to PR ports/62463; it has been noted by GNATS. From: David Johnson <david@usermode.org> To: Mark Linimon <linimon@FreeBSD.org> Cc: freebsd-gnats-submit@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: ports/62463: Update port: x11-wm/qinx to 1.0 Date: Tue, 10 Feb 2004 19:36:48 -0800 On Tuesday 10 February 2004 11:41 am, you wrote: > Synopsis: Update port: x11-wm/qinx to 1.0 > > State-Changed-From-To: open->feedback > State-Changed-By: linimon > State-Changed-When: Tue Feb 10 11:40:15 PST 2004 > State-Changed-Why: > Unfortunately, with this change it is now no longer possible > to to install qinx on pre-3.2 KDE. Is there a workaround? KDE 3.2 introduced too big of a change to the KWin API. The old qinx port won't build under KDE 3.2, and the new one won't build under 3.1. The same situation applies for other KWin decorations in ports, such as x11-wm/mosfet-liquid. I do not see this as a significant problem. The qinx and kdebase3 ports will be in sync once this update is committed. David Johnson
