It's a brand-new laptop, so I don't think it's got to do with memory
or processor speed. Top doesn't show anything. Maximum cpu usage
percentage is within single digits and so is the memory usage.

Nothing I can spot.

It has only one line:
/usr/local/bin/startxfce4
