Yes, compiling enigmail with gcc 3.4 is sufficient to eliminate the signal 11 for me. I am not sure if it is because some code generation issue in gcc, or bug in enigmail itself (presumably no, the access violation is triggered in perfectly fine code). I have taken some time to give it a shoot but got some "events" this afternoon so I did not dig further.
