I use mencoder that comes with mplayer.   Make sure mplayer/mencoder is u=
sing=20
xvid.
mencoder -tv=20
on:driver=3Dbsdbt848:norm=3Dntsc:width=3D320:height=3D240:input=3D1:chanl=
ist=3Dus-bcast:channel=3D6=20
-oac mp3lame -ovc divx4 -o filename.avi -lameopts br=3D64:cbr:q=3D9

I can get 30fps with my 600Mhz Duron straight to divx (800Kb/64Kb=20
Audio/Video).  I've noticed with the channel you need to set it one high =
than=20
the one you want to record.  Also I've had issues with the newer releases=
 of=20
mencoder not keeping the framerate up.  I can send you an older version t=
o=20
I've been using that I know works.
