Is there a command or function available to obtain the temperature and fan-speed data off a motherboard that is equipped to provide this information, within FreeBSD? It might be handy to be able to check this within the system and alert an administrator if a server starts to overheat. Right now all I see on my machine is a way to check temperature in the BIOS menu, but of course that requires booting the machine, which makes it completely impractical. There is probably a way to read this data off the motherboard in a running system, so I was wondering if anyone has written a utility to do that.
