Thanks for the suggestion, Renaud.  You apparently don't know:

1.  There is a book out there already, "The Complete FreeBSD",
    published by Walnut Creek CDROM.  See
    http://www.cdrom.com/titles/os/bsdbook.htm for more details.

2.  I'm also the author of O'Reilly's "Porting UNIX Software".

3.  I've been trying to convince O'Reilly to publish "The Complete
    FreeBSD" for nearly 2 years now.  So far, they have seen no reason
    to do so.

I'm copying my editor at O'Reilly, Andy Oram, on this reply.  Andy
seems more sympathetic to the idea of a FreeBSD book than most at
O'Reilly.  It doesn't mean that he can get up and make it happen, but
I'm sure he'll be interested.

In any case, thanks for the suggestion.  I fear it's not going to
change much, but it's a step in the riht direction.
