I also had this problem.  It was fixed by removing the '-O' in the
CC statement that compilied it.  I guess it's a bug in gcc somewhere.
(I compiled the yacc file by hand).

Another side effect is that the cc process slowly grows and grows until
it eats _all_ memory and swap space.
