First, you need to make sure your ports are up=20 to date. *Then* install netperf using the port. (I just did, on 5.4=20 RELEASE, and it installed without a hitch.) The port installed=20 netperf-2.3pl1.tar.gz, not netperf-2.4.0.tar.gz. If you want 2.4.0, you're = on your own, and you'll have to figure out how to get it to compile on=20 FreeBSD. The netperf Makefile *might* be helpful. It might also be=20 helpful to look at the port files after typing "make". You'll find that=20 there are 14 patchfiles in the files/ directory and a configure script in=20 the scripts/ directory. I'm betting you can't compile this port yourself, unless you're a=20 programmer and you understand configure and Makefile instructions clearly.=20 Or maybe you can - but you're pretty much on your own.
