Try these patches for gnome--.  Apply the Makefile.patch to
/usr/ports/x11-toolkits/gnome--/Makefile.  Stick
patch-scripts::ltmain.sh in /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/gnome--/files.  Do a
make clean install, and see if it works.
