For comparison - my system produces this line during the compilation which works fine: ld -Bshareable -x -o libTclXML_libxml23.1.so tcllibxml2.o docObj.o -L/usr/local/lib -ltclstub84 -L/usr/local/lib -lxml2 -L/usr/local/lib/Tclxml3.1 -lTclxmlstub3.1 Frank
