BTW: Why are you putting > precompiled binaries into /usr/ports/distfiles? > > Roland Okay, I ran the command just like you show up above and now xfce will not start at all, I just get the gray xfwm screen, no icon bar, pager or anything other than the mouse click menu. The error message that comes up is: /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libgtk-1.2.so.5" not found I verified that I do have gtk-1.2.7 installed through pkg_info. According to the XFCE web page is will work with that.
