Someone else also mailed me with the fact that he can use WEP just fine. But wepmode != authmode, and the AP I use doesn't use "authmode OPEN".

I know it's not all that secure and stuff...  but at least it's better than nothing.

And I thought shared mode was at least a bit more secure than open.
