I cannot find any information on what is the recommended way to backup
the entire system and then create a boot diskette to recover the system
in case something like the root drive failing...am i just missing it
somewhere?

I have no problem using dump or tar to make a backup, but how do I make
a custom boot diskette with my custom kernel, and install the files on it
to restore the system?
