Madison" Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I'm trying to find out if FreeBSD will run on a Micron Powerdigm system with a Pentium II 300 Mhz chip and an Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI controller/PCI card. It also has a Diamond Fire Pro GL 1000 8MB video card, and with Linux, we are unable to contact the video card. We really need to run some sort of unix, and would really appreciate any help in finding out if FreeBSD would work. Thanks very much for your time. If you just have pointers to information places, that would be appreciated as well. (I did check the FAQ, but it doesn't address the video card issue, and I don't know if the inability of linux to see the video card is a kernel problem or something else.) -- Kathy Madison Unix SysAdmin kmadison@isr.umd.edu I speak for no one but me. and occasionally the trees.
