single user mode has no network access, plus you have to hand-mount file
systems from the console.  if you could log in accross the network, than
telnetd would have to be running which defeats the purpose of 'single user
mode' as daemons
are considered users.

You know, I was thinking about this too.  Perhaps if you had two servers and
you linked their serial ports.  Then you could use one to access a console
on the other right ?  Would that work ?
