Sorry, you're wrong. We use the mailertable feature of sendmail to make our 
own grouping...

Nope, with the mailertable, _everything_ for *.fr goes to the french
exploder, MX are not used at all (in truth they're used but only for the
exploder itself; see "dig mx mail-relay.fr.freebsd.org"). Its is the
exploder's job to use MX and distribute the mail.

We have several shortcuts that way on hub for most TLD (.fr, .de, .au, and
so on).
