Gerardo,

I have a 1700 that sounds like what you are buying. I like it.
I can play dvd's with mplayer and ogle, sound works fine the
internal nic works as a dc. I have had no problems with the single pci
slot. Both the floppy and the dvd/cd-rw work. I burn a cd a week or so.
I have never tried the hot swap, I only use the floppy on occasion.
X runs at 1024x768x16 and probably more but that is what I use.

If you have specific problems, let me know.

P.S. I'm running current, BTW.

| Hello all, I'm soon going to have an Armada Presario
| Laptop, I really don't remember the model but I think
| it is not relevant.
| I'm getting the one that has CD_R/CD_RW, DVD , and
| floppy in a kind of hot swap port.
|
| I don't care if the hot swap feature is supported or
| not in BSD, I just wonder how does freeBSD configure
| the device??
| I mean can I boot one time with the dvd, other time
| with the CD-RW, stuff like that
|
| I will apreciate if someone with a presario with those
| features tell me how is doing, and the experience with
| the hot swap thing.
|
| Thanx
|
| Gerardo Amaya
