 I'm not really sure how to help you pin down this problem.  I have both
 FreeBSD and PC-BSD installed, both using KDE, and don't experience any
 kind of problems with them.
 
 There has to be something in particular with your setup, because other
 people are not seeing this problem.
 
 You might try asking on freebsd-questions@ or freebsd-ports@.  I personally
 am so far behind in other committments that I won't be able to help debug
 this one.  Sorry.
 
 fwiw, in following up to PRs, be sure to Cc: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org.
 That way, the information will make it into the Audit-Trail.  It is not
 necessary to Cc: freebsd-bugs or freebsd-ports-bugs, that happens automati-
 cally if you Cc: bug-followup.
