I'm running: FreeBSD buug.homeip.net 4.3-STABLE FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE #1: Wed Jul 18 14:13:37 PDT 2001 bear@buug.homeip.net:/usr/src/sys/compile/BSD i386. If you need any other information (dmesg, rc.firewall, natd.conf, etc) just let me know. What's going on is that basically, I can receive IRC DCC GET files and stuff, but I can't IRC DCC SEND files and stuff. I thought it had to do with my natd configuration, so I setup my natd.conf file like this: # natd.conf - IPFW Network Address Translation config file # dynamic yes log yes use_sockets yes same_ports yes I learned of these options by searching around on the mailing list archives and by reading the man page for natd. Although, this doesn't seem to work. Also, I realized that I'm irc'ing from the firewall. I know that sounds insecure, but it's just a rinky-dink home network. Now, it might be important to give you a list of my rc.firewall rules, but I dont't think it's that either. But I'm basically using the SIMPLE ruleset in rc.firewall with a few minor modifications. Let me know if you require the ruleset in order to figure this out. Anyways, I have narrowed it down to either a IPFW or NATD. But, I'm also wondering if setting up a random hostname in the rc.conf and in the hosts file can cause ill effects? Your help in getting my DCC SEND's working will be greatly appreciated.
