I am trying to building a custom kernel but I get this error when I do a
"make depend". This also happens when I try to build a plain GENERIC kernel:

minotaur# make depend
rm -f .newdep
make -V CFILES -V SYSTEM_CFILES -V GEN_CFILES | xargs  mkdep -a -f .newdep
-O -pipe  -Wall -Wredundant-decls -Wnested-externs
-Wstrict-prototypes  -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith -Winline
-Wcast-qual  -fformat-extensions -ansi  -nostdinc -I- -I. -I../..
-I../../../include -I../../contrib/ipfilter  -D_KERNEL -include
opt_global.h -elf  -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2
make -V SFILES -V SYSTEM_SFILES | xargs  env MKDEP_CPP="cc -E" mkdep -a -f
.newdep -x assembler-with-cpp -DLOCORE -O -pipe  -Wall -Wredundant-decls
-Wnested-externs -Wstrict-prototypes  -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith
-Winline -Wcast-qual  -fformat-extensions -ansi  -nostdinc -I- -I. -I../..
-I../../../include -I../../contrib/ipfilter  -D_KERNEL -include
opt_global.h -elf  -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2
rm -f .depend
mv -f .newdep .depend
cd ../../modules ; env MAKEOBJDIRPREFIX=/usr/src/sys/compile/SIREN/modules
MACHINE=i386 make obj ;  env
