I'll admit, I'm a complete newbie. However, I have diligently hit every faq I can find and no one seems to have this particular problem. I installed 4.4 stable on a sony vaio pcg-fx120. I got passed the initial errors associated with the sony pcic structure to actually get in the installation. Now the problem is that after the installation is complete, and it reboots, it does the usual boot-up messaging issues. Once it gets to mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s2a It stops. The system is not hung, but I can't leave the buffer. I have used scroll-lock, but this only makes the cursor disapear and reappear. No keyboard input appears on the screen. Pgup and Pgdown serve no purpose. When I use crtl-alt-del it seems to break the problem and shows me all the login info, including the key strokes. Unfortuantely it also rebooting.
