I've always found a test restore works wonders for the peace of my mind.

=0Acd <dest dir>
=0Arestore -Nrf <backupfilename>
=0A
=0ATo test that it all "appears" it ought to restore.=A0 Then,=20
=0A
cd <dest dir>
=0Arestore -if <backupfilename>=20
=0A
=0ATo confirm a few files restore properly completely.
=0AYMMV, and obviously check man restore!
