Many companies do change their logos (see link). Logos tend to evolve over time and as the world changes. Our world (software-wise) is definitely changing. If we want FreeBSD to exist in the future then change is inevitable. http://www.bellsystemmemorial.com/bell_logos.html The open source slice of the OS pie is getting larger.
