well, problem still shows up intermittently in v0.9.7.

i was on mozilla.org; opened bookmarks; clicked on "salon"; taken to
"mozilla.org" while the status said mozilla was contacting
"www.salon.com".  after fiddling w/ cache settings, problem seems to
be gone. for now.
