I recommended that a little awhile ago, and i'll agree on it now.  Get 
rid of the port tag so that we can begin work on the conversion.  After 
we dump the port tag, many parts of the documentation will need a sweep 
through for the replacement.  Was this done before, like a large 
replacement of a tag, where perhaps an awk script was used in the 
processing?  In either case, lets first dump the <port> then work on the 
new stuff ;)
