I am using the Creative Zen Touch (40gb for ~$280 US), and had excellent luck with it. Using gnomad2, you can store data or mp3s on it, but it is fairly slow to load the local directories of music since it does not just generate a list of filenames, it also scans the ID3 tags and determines song length, etc. Using USB1.1 it is also quite slow to transfer songs to the Zen Touch, and I have not yet had the opportunity to try USB2.0, though the Zen Touch supports it. It does not, however, support Ogg Vorbis or other formats, only MP3, WMA, and WAV. The optional remote control (~$50 US) adds FM radio, voice recording, and recording from the radio.
