 Don't the Apache ports put scripts in /usr/local/etc/rc.d 
automatically??

 You just enable the script, by copying (or renaming) them so it ends 
in .sh

 Make sure the path to apachectl is correct as well.

 It sounds like you do have some apache scripts in rc.d ? or don't 
you....
