I don't see this problem on my headless server.  I've recompiled by boot
blocks to allow for a console speed of 115200.

cat /etc/make.conf:
BOOT_COMCONSOLE_SPEED=115200

And here is my /boot.config:

cat /boot.config:
-P

I also have this in /boot/loader.conf:

cat /boot/loader.conf:
userconfig_script_load="YES"
console="comconsole"

And this in /etc/ttys:

ttyd0   "/usr/libexec/getty std.115200" vt100   on secure
