Us ham folks use something called grid squares when doing contests, and due
to that www.arrl.org has these neat set of web pages called the ``grid square
locator''. Easiest way to find it is go to the web site, then jump to the
index and find the grid square stuff. One way to get your grid square is to
input your city and state. That will get you the lat and long of the USGS
coordinate for that city and state. Then jump to the map view and try to
guestimate how far off the marker you are to get more accurate results.

The hams out there might want to traceroute to the source of this email to
see some interesting usage of grid squares... we use them AS wide to locate
our POP's :-) (And yes, some of those links just might be RF in the microwave
bands depending on which way you get to me.)

If you speak ham you know physically where in the world I am to within about a
mile from this vvvvvv little 6 digit code :-) 73 to all
