 This is actually a problem with the remote host, inetd is sending
 that message when it can't fork off a ftpd server to handle your
 incoming request.  Unfortunately, no-one knows why the above happens,
 see kern/6858,  current theories include unchecked memory allocation
 in libc and kernel VM bugs.  Does this problem manifest itself
 under any particular conditions that you can isolate?
