It depends on what you ask, and what sort of info you have.

If your question shows that you have done your homework via Google and
the FAQ/handbook/etc, you should be OK.

A question along the lines of "How do I learn X?" is much better
received than "How do I do X?"  Most people will happily point you to
the appropriate book.
