greetings all and best wishes for the new year. i've just installed freebsd v4.2-release (on a small network consisting of freebsd v2.2.5-release machines, equally old intel 386dx33 with 8 mb dram). on this v4.2 box, i have xfree86 and wanting to try a slightly more modern (grin) browser than lynx i have decided to try opera. i found the opera package (linux-opera-6.0.20011129.1) i looked at the "Contents" file to get a list of the dependencies, which i downloaded from my local freebsd mirror (mirror.aarnet.edu.au). after installing all the packages i started opera and was greeted with "unable to find, blahblahblah" after tracking down two packages that are not listed in the dependencies i have reached an empass bash$ opera opera: error in loading shared libraries: libqt.so.2: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory i've gone through the single iso image cd (the installation cd for freebsd v4.2-release) and cannot find anything that has a libqt.so.2 in it .... some advice on where to find and or how to install opera, any version, i am not fussed about it being the latest and greatest. i just want something that works and works reliably please, cc: me in the response, i am not subscribed to freebsd-questions. with much regards and thanks in advance jonathan -- ================================================================ Jonathan Michaels http://rebuild.soon.may.be PO Box 144, Rosebery, NSW 1445 suffering construction anxiety =========================================<jon at caamora com au> To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
