You can now consider the doc/ tree to be reopened for commits, although any changes from here on out will not be reflected in 4.8-RELEASE. (It's still probably a good idea to refrain from making huge, sweeping changes or major changes to the building infrastructure until the release is actually completed, just in case we need to move tags around for some reason.) As stated previously, version number bumps (and sliding of tags for the affected files) will happen a little closer to the actual release date. Thanks for everybody's hard work!
