2.1.0 is the latest released version; 2.1.5 is expected to be released
next month, and will be mainly bug-fixes to 2.1.0.

This is the code currently under development, which will form version
2.2 of FreeBSD. This is distributed as source code, which needs an
already-installed system to compile it. Periodically, "snapshots" of
this development code are made available, which can be installed from
the FTP site in the same way as release versions. These are kept in a
directory called something like 060196-SNAP (from memory).

Yes, a number of PCI ethernet cards are supported in 2.1.0. Please see
the HARDWARE.TXT file in the root directory of the distribution for
details.
