Is there any possibility of trying a 4.0 kernel?
I had this problem on a spam box at work.. 3.0 doesn't like the CDR at all.. I get bus
timeouts and sometimes the machine hangs :-/

I upgraded to 4.0 and it works find. This is a P6SBS which is a PII mobo with a AIC7895
on board (dual UW)

Maybe worth a cvs diff on the AHC code between 3.0 and 4.0?
