If you are using the FAT file format under Win95, then a good
approach may be, to defragment you HDD, thereby moving all Win95
stuff to the first half of the drive and then partitioning the drive
into two halves (or parts).
Then you can use the second half to install FreeBSD on. The
installation process will format the second partition.
