I'm running FreeBSD 4.1.1 with original generic kernel as it was installed from the CD. I downloaded apache 1.3.9, compilled, installed configured and started up. (/usr/local/apache/...) It ran and responded with no problems. Later, whenever I executed .../httpd stop and send a request right after that, the deamon responds. I try ps -ax | grep httpd and it is still there. Not big deal. I simply kill the process to stop it. I don't know whether it's a problem of the system or httpd (bug). Couldn't find a similar solved problem for a couple of days on the Internet either. Any clues over there how to make this behavior prevent from occuring? Where do I make mistake? Thanx. Zbynek.
