Ok, i thought I'd share my little experience with vlc. I have a Thinkpad T20, its a savage chipset, I use X 4.1.0 from 2 June 2001 and vlc works almost perfectly for me, only thing I have a problem with is that sound is a little out of sync, I would imagine that to be a fault of vlc not caching its reads, I can deal with it for now. I run vlc with the following commands on my Thinkpad: vlc -V x11 --mono dvd:/dev/dvd For encrypted dvd's make sure that your dvd device (mine is just a symli nk to acd0c is writeable by the user running vlc or you will get something along the lines of 'operation not allowed.' Hope this helps folks out there. --Gabe -- "It's not brave if you're not scared." To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
