If you find you have to do this a lot, you can do one of two
things:

    1) Use anonymous CVS to merge new changes into your source tree.
Your changes will be preserved, and CVS will inform you of any
        conflicting changes; or

    2) Keep your patched copies in a mirror source tree, say
/usr/patches, and then diff them when you cvsup, and then
        overlay them as necessary.
