Some suggestions on "what to do" in these cases... - check in the archives if there are known problems with your network card model - type "netstat -i" and see how many errors/collisions it reports - if your box is connected to a switch or an "intelligent" hub, look at the switch statistics (errors/collisions on the other end of the link) - if there are many errors, try another cable - if there are many collisions, set the link to full duplex (if supported by both the card and the switch/hub) - at last, try another network card --- Stefano Riva Software Engineer - Systems Administrator Informazioni Editoriali I.E.
