Well, my TP560 thinks it's one of these:

Section "Pointer"
    Protocol    "PS/2"
    Device      "/dev/psm0"

    Emulate3Buttons
    Emulate3Timeout 50
EndSection

Note you have to enable psm0 in your kernel as well...is it disabled?
This entry works well enough I can even use my external 3-button mouse
too.
