You need to get a "hardware modem" or "controller modem" rather than a
"winmodem" or software-modem. A few internal modems today, like US =
Robotics
Performance Pro, fit that description. Also many old internal modems =
work
fine. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with an external modem. FreeBSD =
supports
both serial and USB external modems.
