It supports both DDR and SDR but only up to 1GB. I've run mine through a variety of tests and the only problems I've found are: 1. Certain AMR modems (Smartlink brand) cause problems with onboard sound. 2. I had problems with VIA compatible PC-133 SDR modules when attempting to run the DRAM bus @ 133mhz. This was fixed by manually configuring the module specs in the BIOS. 3. NIC problem in *BSD as listed below. For the feature set and price ($65 US). You can't beat it! -----Original Message----- From: Eric Parusel [mailto:lists@globalrelay.net] Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 1:15 PM To: freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG; Bakul Shah Subject: Re: Any experience with Soyo K7ADA? Apart from the onboard NIC not working (*yet*, the MAC address isn't being detected properly), the SiS735 based ECS K7S5A has worked very well for myself on FreeBSD (4.4). I bought it because it was cheap ($125 *Canadian*), has a fast chipset, and got so many good reviews... It's not an overclockers motherboard though, not that I care :) Later, Eric Parusel > Fry's Electronics is selling these motherboard with Athlon > 1600XP+ cpu (1.4Ghz) for $149 which seems like a decent > price.
